The Best of Boone County Invitational is limited to participating EL, MS and HS in Boone County, KY.  

The Best of Boone tournament has always been about camaraderie, friendly competition, and bringing our archery teams together to find the top marksman in the county. This year, to make things even more exciting and to involve more schools, we’re taking the tournament virtual! Sharpen your aim and get ready—each team will have a three-week window, from March 9th to March 27th, to submit their scores. 

While we’ll miss the energy of seeing everyone in person, we’re excited to announce that we plan to bring back the in-person tournament next year, the weekend after the state competition. As soon as the state date is set, we’ll mark our calendars for the Best of Boone to follow right after! Our mission is to see every school in Boone County take aim and join the fun so we can grow our archery family even bigger.

Last year’s winners—your plaques are ready to be added to the trophies! If you can’t participate this year, please return your trophy so we can keep the tradition alive and pass it on to the next champion.

The 2026 Best of Boone is going virtual—and registration is now open! You have until March 6th to sign up your team and get shooter numbers for all your archers. Scorecards can be submitted easily: if you’re able to, just email us your team’s file with your school’s name.

Want to give your students a chance to practice or score with other archers? Camp Ernst and Boone County High School are rolling out the welcome mat! If your school wants to join a practice or attend a shooting event, especially for elementary students who missed other tournaments, just contact Gail or me. We’ll help you find a time to let your archers show off their skills and have some fun!

Each school may register one team of 24.
