Addendum to NASP® 3D Range Calculator
Important things to consider
Arrow Curtains
- This range calculator takes into consideration the need to have at least a 3 foot overlap when adjoining curtains to avoid curtain gaps on the range.
- If your range layout requires "SAFETY WINGS" at the end of your range, like those used at all national tournaments, you will need to add the appropriate length of curtain and supports needed to build these wings to final curtain calculation.
*For safety reasons NASP® strongly recommends the use of "SAFETY WINGS" on all NASP® tournament ranges.
- When calculating the total number of curtains needed, you must also consider if you will need to build curtain walls to block pedestrian traffic from the range.
Lane Officials
- This range calculator is programed to calculate 1 lane official per range. If you are using experienced lane officials, then 1 lane official can generally oversee 1.5 3D ranges.
Set-Up Supplies
- TAPE MEASURERS - For laying out your range.
- CHALK MARKERS OR CHALK STICKS - To mark measurements when setting up the range.
- SHARPIES - To mark tape during set-up and mark lanes/numbers on shooting line.
- PAINT ROLLERS - To smooth down floor tape. Handle can also be used as a guide to set all lane numbers at the same height on the curtain.
- ZIP TIES - For hanging banners, flags and closing curtain gaps.
- FLOOR SCRAPER - For removing 2" round stickers from concrete floors. DO NOT USE ON GYM FLOORS.
- CURTAIN HOOK ROD "PUSH STICK" - To attach curtain hooks to crossbars. This item is not required, but it does allow vertically challenged individuals an easy way to hang the arrow curtain.
